On August 30th, many important guests came to the mountain. They were representatives of Buddhist organization from China and Vietnam. Among them were Abbot/Dharma Master Zengqin of Xian Dacien Temple, China Buddhist Association Vice Secretary, Bureau Chief Xu Yuanjie of National Religious Affair Bureau, National Religion Bureau Chief, vice bureau chiefs, and various others dharma masters. They all came to Lingjiu Mountain, which because of their arrival; and caused immeasurable good beginnings to converge and to gather here....
We introduced Lingjiu Mountain’s past twenty years of history and its future goals. Although the weather has mixtures of winds and rains due to three nearby typhoons, our distant and distinctive guests were still very excited and praised about the existing difficult structures on top of the mountain and the world view presented by our organization.
And because of these friends arrival, it made me thought about the time when the World Religion Museum was constructed, the countless time I have visited other places in order to investigate, to learn, and to gather various good karma. Today, their arrivals were also considered to be a kind of good karma that represented the inseparably close exchange and cooperation between Taiwan and China. That was a good beginning and hopefully a good karma like this would last a long time.Previously, I have visited the mainland numerous times and deeply felt that Buddhism in China had become a force that stabilized and promoted harmonious relations in society. Now, how to utilize that force to the next level and become the fuel that benefits both Taiwan and China, and eventually to become worldwide welfare is something we should think about and work toward together.
In recent years, various areas in the world have suffered disasters that caused the loss of countless lives and untold wealth. Previously, China has affected by serious water disasters and earthquakes that displaced numerous compatriots and some even lost their precious lives. This saddened us deeply. Facing these worldwide disasters, Buddhists from both Taiwan and China ought to exemplify Buddha’s compassionate spirits. Both should interact and work together and to use the Great Compassionate Mind to face and to care about these questions. This is Buddhism cherished fundamental and we should face this period’s unavoidable mission and responsibilities.
Pray that we can create good karma together to let Buddhism from Taiwan and China to continuously correspond, communicate and cooperate through compassion and friendship. And to pray for the realization of the wish for the global family to experience peace and love.
