June 23rd is the graduation date of Lingjiu Mountain’s Three Vehicle Buddhist College. That day, the college organized a united friendship tea ceremony where students discussed about their thoughts after two years of studying. And I also have some words of encouragement for everyone there....
February 13th is the last day of the Year of the Ox, after this day, we enter the Year of Tiger and wished everyone a [Fortune Comes from Good Karma] (Chinese word for Fortune and Tiger have the same pronunciation, fu). At each year’s new year’s eve when we gather around the stove, I have expectations along with disciples’ gathering around the stove, that everyone, through the connection with Buddha Dharma and Good Karma, can unite and be diligent in passing on the tradition of Buddha’s Dharma...
On July 26, I was invited by Jackie Rees and Sean Andrews, and they are also the affiliate of The Phantom of the Opera . They especially invited to me to attend their performance at the Taipei Arena. A Billion of people who seen this Opera on the world. The result of Stage display design is very wonderful.
Everybody well- known and can sing each song . In the past of Taiwan,Opera is seeing by people of culturist, or the one who has a power or the one upper society people. Now as I thought, due to the Summer holiday, parents who bring children to see and listen to the opera. The culture of Opera is now a day most of families who willing to spend the money and see the opera. As my feeling The Taiwan society standard of the culture is now raising, for that worth to please it.
Ling Jiou Mountain held an interesting party of united nations for teenagers form more than ten countries, led by Rotary Club, to experience a two-day religion camp and traditional culture of eastern Buddhism, and these teenagers showed respects and acceptance to foreign countries as in the attitude of “while in Rome, do as the Romans do.” They asked questions enthusiastically during the activity. A student asked me curiously about the meaning of worshiping Buddhist statue. For example, for what reason a Buddhist statue in temple is erected? Is it to worship or a symbol of practicing the Dharma?
Northeast Coast National Scenic Area Administration, TB, MOTC held the opening ceremony of “2009 Sand Sculpture Festival” in Fu Long, Taipei County . I represented the Ling Jiou Mountain Buddhism Society and a local resident to welcome everyone to visit the treasure land. Especially with the H1N1 virus surrounding, everyone wears mask to prevent it. Isn’t it great to have the whole family to walk on the beach with beautiful sunshine, to close to the great nature, and to treasure and realize the importance of the nature resources.
